The Himalayan salt water flow is controlled by gravity making rinsing gentle and thorough. Handmade in the United States.  A great compliment to our dry salt therapy Himalayan salt inhalers.

The ancient practice of nasal irrigation, known as neti, have been used by masters of Ayurveda and Yoga for thousands of years. Jala Neti, literally “water cleansing”, is the process of rinsing out the nasal passages with salt water, via use of a neti pot. In modern science, the term has has been recognized as nasal irrigation.

The majority of sinus problems fall into acute, chronic, and allergenic—which can be both acute and chronic. Acute issues generally arise from cold or flu, some temporary symptom. Chronic issues arise often from allergies, climate, or often from unknown reasons. These individuals sadly often deal with long periods of inflamed sinuses and stuffy nose. Headache can be acute or chronic, and often associated with allergies, which can stem from spring airborne pollen, or chronic undiagnosed allergies. Regardless of which condition you suffer from, Neti Pot therapy can relieve your sinus and allergy symptoms. For best results, use So Well’s 100% ceramic nasal pot daily.

Fair Trade

What’s the big deal about Fair Trade? We actually get this question a lot! If you look up the definition of Fair Trade, you will find results referring to a social movement whose stated goal is to help producers in developing countries achieve better trading conditions while promoting sustainability. But to us, Fair Trade is that and so much more!

Fair Trade ensures that producers receive fair market prices, are free from labor abuses and use sustainable growing and production methods. In a world where corporate profits rule these crafters and farmers are often exploited, creating a cycle of poverty and environmental degradation. Fair Trade can break that cycle, creating better lives, stronger communities and a healthier environment. We are dedicated to Fair Trade, and use suppliers dedicated to Fair Trade and sustainability.

We import all of our salt products through a long-term direct relationship that creates mutual accountability. Our partners observe fair trade principles that include 25% greater than average wages, human rights such as rest breaks, chilled water, protective clothing, safe working environments and medical care. You can be assured that our talented craftsmen are respected and cared for as valuable members of the So Well team.  We do not supply big box stores and only work with customers who value high quality, uniqueness and Fair Trade.

A primary component of trade is the small premium that buyers of fair trade goods pay as part of their purchase price for socially responsible products. An important factor of the fair trade social premium is that the producers decide where and how it is spent. In our case, our production partners use it to raise wages, create a safe working environment and offer important benefits.  Additionally, our ingredients are harvested sustainably and we use 100% reusable, recyclable and eco-friendly packaging.

So Well is a proud member of Chicago Fair Trade. Learn more here.

Handmade

Our handmade products represent the highest standards, not only in our observation of Fair Trade practices, but also in our carefully-developed network of crafters. It’s our belief that the uniqueness of all of our Himalayan salt-based products is what makes them so special, and that’s reflected in their handmade production.

Our crafter network is US based so that you get the added benefit of buying American in as many instances as possible.  We have vendors that are responsible for our bath & body, skincare, salves & balms, soaps, inhalers & neti pots, and more, using our custom and proprietary recipes, formulations and exclusive designs.

If mass production were the main goal, some of our products that our customers love and enjoy might never get produced.  By maintaining our network of crafters, we’re able to guarantee a uniqueness and handmade quality you often aren’t likely to find in a product produced by a larger conglomerate.  The handmade nature of our products allows us to ensure accountability for authenticity in our products and ingredients.

We’re sure you’ll find that any So Well product brings a tasteful air of handmade design and function to your home or office.

Directions

Neti Pot Directions:  Fill the nasal pot just below the lip with warm water. Stir in half a teaspoon of So Well’s pure, Himalayan salt until completely dissolved. While bent over the sink, turn your head to one side. Keeping the pot level, place the nasal pot spout into your top nostril until fit snugly. Breathing through your mouth, let half the warm water drain through your top nostril and out your bottom nostril.

Do not sniff saltwater! Gravity will do the work for you. If you have issues with the water flowing out your other nostril, play with the angle until successful. Repeat with the other half of the warm water using the other nostril as the top nostril, angled from the other side. If you experience discomfort, adjust salt levels. Sometimes too little can be as uncomfortable as too much.

Learn More: The nasal passages are lined with a thin layer of mucus and are one of our body’s first lines of defense against disease. Let’s face it, we deal with a lot more pollution than we used to. Nasal rinsing helps keep this layer of mucus moist, clean and healthy.

Most sinus problems fall into three categories: acute, chronic and allergenic (which could be both acute and chronic). Acute sinus problems often come about from seasonal allergies, a cold, or the flu, and are seen as a temporary condition. Chronic sinus problems are often long term, quite possibly from allergies, climate changes, or from a completely unknown source. For long periods of time the sinuses seem to be inflamed and filled with mucous. Allergen sinuses are simply that – from allergies which can be a temporary condition if it’s a summer airborne allergy or chronic if it’s an undiagnosed allergy.

Headaches and sinus pressure can be associated with all three categories. Whichever category describes you best, you will find sinus relief after using a nasal pot.

For best results, use the nasal pot every day. Hand made in the USA. 100% Ceramic.

Wet Salt Therapy

Wet Salt Therapy

Nasal irrigation is a personal hygiene practice in which the nasal cavity is washed to flush out mucus and debris from the nose and sinuses. The practice is generally well-tolerated and reported to be beneficial with only minor side effects. Nasal irrigation in a wider sense can also refer to the use of saline nasal spray or nebulizers to moisten the mucous membranes.

According to its advocates, nasal irrigation promotes good sinus and nasal health. Patients with chronic sinusitis including symptoms of facial pain, headache, halitosis, cough, anterior rhinorrhea (watery discharge) and nasal congestion are reported often to find nasal irrigation to provide relief. In published studies, “daily hypertonic saline nasal irrigation improves sinus-related quality of life, decreases symptoms, and decreases medication use in patients with frequent sinusitis”, and irrigation is recommended as an adjunctive treatment for chronic sinonasal symptoms.

Dry Salt Therapy

Pure, fair trade Himalayan salt crystals are placed within the inhaler chambers and as you breathe through the inhaler, moisture in the air absorbs soothing, micron-size salt particles into your respiratory system. This safe, 100% natural breathing remedy helps relieve symptoms of asthma, hay fever, congestion, colds and allergies.

Dry salt therapy is known as speleotherapy or halotherapy. The benefits were first documented in the 1800’s when a Polish physician discovered that breathing pure, ionized air in salt mines cured respiratory conditions. Since then people have sought out the healing “salt caves” of Eastern Europe for their antibacterial, antimicrobial, and antifungal benefits. Our Himalayan salt pipe air inhaler is an affordable, easy way to enjoy healing speleotherapy in the comfort of your home or on the go.

Modern lungs are under stress from air pollution and a wide range of toxins. Dr. Oz recently named Himalayan salt pipes as one of the two alternative health products he plans on using. He mentioned that Himalayan salt differs from table salt in that it is pure. He states that it has, “…no contaminants, no anti-caking agent, it’s all natural, and has no pollutants.” Because of this, Dr. Oz further states, Himalayan salt pipes “are helpful for asthma, allergies, sinus conditions, and because it has potassium which decreases blood pressure, it may be helpful for that, too.”

We give you the purest salt on earth in and a great choice of inhalers to embark on your dry salt therapy journey to wellness.

I LOVE my neti pot. I use this whenever my sinuses are acting up, especially with spring/summer/fall seasonal allergies. I use 1/4tsp salt with a drop of lavender oil in distilled water. I feel so much better afterward. When I do it before bed I sleep better, too. Bonus!
